Black Caps skipper Stephen Fleming has promised to spare Graeme Smith from any verbal abuse when the teams meet in the one day series in the Republic, starting at the end of next week.
Fleming verbally attacked the South African skipper when the Proteas were touring New Zealand last year.
He maintains he hoped Smith would lose his concentration, which he obviously did as New Zealand went on to win that one day series 5-1.
However, Fleming says this series is different, and he does not expect such an easy ride this time around.
Fleming says Smith is a far more experienced player, and is leading his side extremely well.
