KEY POINTS:
Stephen Fleming's future status remains the only imponderable after New Zealand Cricket's (NZC) post-World Cup revolution produced minimal change.
After head coach John Bracewell's reappointment for another two years last month, the selection panel he used to hold the power of veto over was retained on Thursday.
Sir Richard Hadlee, Dion Nash and Glenn Turner all had their contracts renewed for varying lengths of time, effectively ending an NZC review.
A panel comprising NZC chief executive Justin Vaughan, high performance boss Ric Charlesworth, New Zealand team manager Lindsay Crocker and New Zealand Cricket Players' Association manager Heath Mills, agreed to stay with the status quo.
Former New Zealand captain and India coach John Wright was considered, but it was felt he needed time to get to know the current pool of New Zealand players.
The former test opener was appointed to an undefined high performance role when Bracewell's tenure was extended, and Australian Mark O'Neill was named as the specialist batting coach.
Wright will coach the national A side in a series of games against Australian state sides in October.
His role is expected to include aspects of work with promising talent, the major associations and the national team's top order batsmen.
Vaughan said the incumbent selection panel had been retained because they "have the skills and knowledge we want".
They had been appointed on staggered contracts, to maintain continuity.
"We also wanted to make sure we have a working panel at all times in the future," Vaughan said.
"In general, selectors will be offered two-year terms, with only two retiring in any one year to allow that continuity.
"To commence the rotation, Richard and Dion have been offered one-year terms and Glenn a two-year deal, with John Bracewell already on a two-year term.
"Any of the selectors will be free to reapply at the completion of their term."
With the coaching staff and selectors settled, only Fleming's future adds an element of intrigue ahead of a busy summer for the New Zealand team.
Fleming, 34 and currently playing for Nottinghamshire on the English county circuit, has remained silent since he missed selection for next month's Twenty20 World Cup squad.
Daniel Vettori has taken over as skipper, a prelude for his expected elevation to the captaincy of the one-day team, a role Fleming relinquished in April when New Zealand were eliminated in the World Cup semifinals by Sri Lanka.
Fleming is understood to be keen to continue his tenure as leader of the test side although his position may not be known until the team are named to tour South Africa in November-December for two tests and three one-dayers.
