Black Caps paceman Doug Bracewell will be out of cricket for six to eight weeks after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Bracewell suffered the injury while fielding during domestic Twenty20 for Central Districts over the weekend.
The injury takes him out for the latter rounds of the 50-over Ford Trophy competition, as well as any involvement in the home international summer through until early to mid February.
Bracewell wasn't required for the recent Chappell-Hadlee series or the home test series against Pakistan, last playing internationally on the tour of India in October.
