Former Black Caps bowling coach Allan Donald has revealed his decision to stay in South Africa was an easy one.
Donald had all but signed with New Zealand Cricket before former teammate and now Proteas coach Gary Kirsten asked him to work as his assistant.
The appointments have been confirmed overnight.
Donald says the decision was never going to be popular with New Zealand Cricket.
He says NZC boss Justin Vaughan was very disappointed, however when you get asked to work for your country, you only get asked once.
Donald worked with the Black Caps during the recent World Cup on the subcontinent.
