3. Franklin denied boundary by a dead ball as Finn breaks stumps - would've been 16.5 overs - New Zealand 109 for five.
Finn's stunt had become tiresome by its third occurrence. Franklin stroked a ball through the covers for four, only to have it retracted. It begged the question: why does there need to be a replay, penalising the batting side for a bowling glitch. Franklin's concentration lapsed. He wore the next ball in the groin. It required the delivery of a new box.
4. Eoin Morgan moves to four in the order - 6.4 overs - England 38 for two
Morgan joined Wright and the pair made 89 for the third wicket, ensuring victory. Morgan had a supporting role with 30 off 31 balls but it was logical moving him back to No 4. Many felt he'd been wasted going in at No 5 in the 11th over against the West Indies, given his strike rate is the best in the team (135 pre-match).
5. A 43-run thrashing in the 15th, 16th and 17th overs - England move from 95 for two to 138 for three.
This blitz deposited them just 11 runs short of the target. Tim Southee, Rob Nicol and Kyle Mills were dispatched to the far outposts of Empire, mainly by Wright. His runs formed part of 76 off 43 balls. They were the catalyst to the six-wicket win, England's first in the Super Eights.
