An announcement on Chris Cairns' test availability is expected early next week.
The New Zealand all-rounder, who was understood to be preparing to retire his test shirt is still mulling over his future and has not ruled out the upcoming tour of England.
However, Cairns' manager Lianne McGoldrick has rejected suggestions that the 33-year-old had sold his story to a woman's magazine, or had been "induced" to stay by New Zealand Cricket.
He was working through his decision. McGoldrick said last night that Cairns felt tainted by the suggestion that he might choose to stay for financial reasons.
