Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum seems likely to be rested during one of New Zealand's next three one-day matches before the World Cup.
New Zealand host Sri Lanka in the final outing of their seven-match series at Westpac Stadium in Wellington tomorrow before they play Pakistan twice. They meet Pakistan in Wellington on Saturday and in Napier on Tuesday.
Given New Zealand hold a 4-1 lead over Sri Lanka, tomorrow's game is a dead rubber. McCullum didn't train with the side in the capital today and he was expected to join them later tonight.
New Zealand batting coach Craig McMillan said discussions would take place this evening around when they could work in a rest for McCullum.
If the skipper was to be given a game off, Tom Latham would likely open the batting, while Kane Williamson would captain the side.
