Shane Bond has marked his return to international cricket by climbing into eighth spot in the International Cricket Council's ODI charts for bowling.
Bond was ranked 14th when he dropped off the ODI rankings earlier this year following his two-season involvement with the rebel Twenty20 Indian Cricket League.
New Zealand had a poor run in their recent tour of Sri Lanka, dipping out of a Tri Series ODI tournament with heavy losses to India and their hosts, which saw them drop to sixth in the team rankings.
Ross Taylor has slumped five places to No 22 in the batsmen's rankings, leaving New Zealand with no player in the top 20.
Among the bowlers, skipper Daniel Vettori has risen one spot to replace Kyle Mills at No 2 with Mills dropping to No 4.
Jacob Oram moved up one spot to No 16 in the bowlers' standings and remains equal third in the all rounders rankings.
