Injured cricketer Shane Bond has vowed to be back in action within a couple of weeks after his latest setback.
Bond returned to Christchurch yesterday after leaving the New Zealand team on tour in England.
He said he would be back bowling in two weeks and had no intention of quitting the game.
"I'm lucky it's not a recurrence of my old injury. It's just a niggle. I only really needed another couple of weeks, but by the time I needed that, the tour would have been over for me anyway."
Bond said he bowled eight overs at sharp pace two days before leaving England, but his lower back still ached. "I don't see it as a major injury. It's just that after a year out of the game, parts of the body are going to ache and hurt after a while.
"If it was any other part of the body I'd probably be able to play through it. I'll let things settle down and do fitness training and then get straight back into the bowling again."
He said he still wanted to play in another World Cup.
