KEY POINTS:
Black Caps skipper Daniel Vettori has responded to some of the parting shots levelled at his former coach John Bracewell.
Bracewell's time in charge finished with the two thrashings in Australia, which was the cue for the departing coach's former teammate Martin Crowe to lash out and call Bracewell's reign the most destructive in the history of New Zealand cricket.
After returning to New Zealand last night, Vettori said the criticism was not fair and will hurt even the thick-skinned Bracewell.
Vettori added Bracewell will find it difficult to hear but Vettori hopes from now on the criticism is levelled at the players, not the coach.
Meanwhile, Vettori expects the majority of the New Zealand squad to remain in place for the test series against the West Indies next week.
Vettori said despite the recent poor results, new coach Andy Moles is unlikely to take drastic measures, even though a number of the Black Caps have arrived home under intense pressure to retain their place in the side. He said he does not think there will be wholesale changes, and he still thinks the squad has the necessary talent.
Vettori said he has noticed the form of domestic players, and was particularly impressed with James Franklin's return from injury.
