The Black Caps will continue with their bat first policy if they win the toss in tonight's one day tri series match against Sri Lanka in Dambulla.
New Zealand has batted first in both matches so far, resulting in a comprehensive first up win over India followed by a loss to Sri Lanka.
Vice-captain Kyle Mills says the conditions in Sri Lanka are very conducive to batting first.
He says at night time it's a lot cooler than in the afternoon so it tends to swing around a bit more.
Play gets underway at 9pm.
