The Black Caps have shown early signs of promise in their first proper hit out in India ahead of the World Twenty20.
New Zealand's thumped Sri Lanka by 74 runs in Mumbai today, having blasted 226 for four before containing their opponents to 152 for seven.
Colin Munro and Corey Anderson both posted quickfire half centuries, while Adam Milne and Ish Sodhi claimed five wickets between them.
Anderson praised Munro as 'a hell of a player' and said he's been batting well domestically for a long time and was pleased to see him take his chance on the international stage.
"Sri Lanka are a very good side," said Anderson. "Obviously we don't face them in pool play but if we come across them in the semifinal we know what to expect.
