SYDNEY - New Zealand have moved back into the world's top-four one-day international cricket sides without playing a match.
On the latest International Cricket Council rankings released today, the Black Caps moved past India into fourth after Rahul Dravid's side failed to make the Malaysia tri-series final in which Australia beat West Indies at the weekend.
Pakistan, New Zealand and India are all on 111 ranking points, with Pakistan ranked third and New Zealand fourth on decimal places.
Australia lead the rankings on 131 points, with South Africa second on 124.
The Black Caps have been idle all winter and resume their international commitments when they play South Africa at the Champions Trophy at Mumbai, India, on October 16.
On the individual ODI rankings, paceman Shane Bond (third) and spinner Daniel Vettori (seventh) are the New Zealand bowlers in the top-10 behind top-ranked Shaun Pollock of South Africa.
In the batting rankings there are no New Zealanders in the top-20.
