Cricket: Black Caps make up for early loss

The Black Caps have made up for the loss of an early wicket in the second one-dayer against South Africa in Port Elizabeth. Chasing 210 for victory, New Zealand is 78 for the loss of one after 17 overs.

Opener Lou Vincent was an early casualty, run out by Andre Nel for 9 in the second over, but a 50-run partnership from Brendan McCullum and Jamie How has stabilised the New Zealand innings. McCullum is on 35 and How 30.

Earlier, the home side made 209 for 9 after losing both openers Graeme Smith and Herschelle Gibbs for ducks due to Kyle Mills.
