Needing 250 to win the decider after New Zealand posted 249 for seven from their 50 overs, Bangladesh were limited to 170 for eight at the Divisional Stadium.
New Zealand regrouped after losing the series opener in Mirpur on Thursday by seven wickets to win the second match at the same venue by 75 runs before taking the third match decisively.
Ross Taylor top scored with 103 while Jamie How made 73. Jeetan Patel, Jacob Oram and Kyle Mills each claimed two scalps.
