Cricket: Aussies lose Watson for test

Australia has suffered a blow ahead of the first cricket test against the Black Caps with Shane Watson set to be ruled out through injury.

Philip Hughes looks likely to play at the Basin Reserve.

Watson is understood to be struggling after being struck on the hip by fast bowler Mitchell Johnson in the green-topped Wellington nets.

Australia will also have to wait until this morning to see if fast bowler Ryan Harris has recovered enough from a side strain to make his debut.
