New Black Caps coach John Wright has declared there'll be a surprise or two in the Black Caps squads named for the upcoming Twenty20 and test series against Pakistan.
Wright and Daniel Vettori have sat in on the selection meeting of the new panel, headed by former coach Mark Greatbatch.
Wright says the first 10 or so pick themselves. He says sometimes you have to brave enough to give a youngster a go.
Four Black Caps will get a chance to face Pakistan before Sunday's series opening Twenty20 international.
Martin Guptill, Kyle Mills, Gareth Hopkins and Daryl Tuffey have been included in Auckland's squad for Thursday's Twenty20 match at Colin Maiden Park.
Auckland squad to face Pakistan:
Jimmy Adams, Colin de Grandhomme, Martin Guptill, Anaru Kitchen, Dusan Hakaria, Kyle Mills, Lou Vincent, Colin Munro, Gareth Hopkins (captain), Roneel Hira, Andre Adams, Michael Bates, Daryl Tuffey.
