Black Caps coach John Wright's fully backing batsman Martin Guptill's decision to turn down the cash of the Indian Premier League.
Guptill's rejected a contract with a side in the lucrative Twenty20 tournament in 2012, deciding instead to return to Derbyshire to play across three forms of the game.
Wright says it's a smart move from Guptill.
He says if you want to put together a quality international side you need strong players, so they encourage the decision.
John Wright says Guptill is showing exactly the right work ethic.
