Melbourne Stars coach Greg Shipperd says champion legspinner Shane Warne is a certain starter for Saturday night's Big Bash League opener against Sydney Thunder at the MCG.
Shipperd said Warne, 42, was still the best spin bowler in Australia despite retiring from international cricket four years ago.
"He is in fine form and he will be available and he will be selected,'' Shipperd said.
Warne bowled without discomfort at the MCG nets on Friday despite burning his right hand in a cooking accident and only having the bandage removed on Wednesday.
Stars captain Cameron White said Test bowlers Peter Siddle and James Pattinson would be rested from Saturday's game.
