Big-hitting former New Zealand Test allrounder Scott Styris has signed with the Hobart Hurricanes for the coming season's Twenty20 Big Bash League.
Styris, who retired from international cricket last year, continues to ply his trade in T20 competitions around the world and, last month, smashed a century off 37 balls for English side Sussex.
The 37-year-old played 29 Tests, 188 one-day internationals and 31 T20 matches for the Black Caps from 1999-2011.
"I'm enjoying my involvement in franchise T20 cricket around the world and have always enjoyed the challenge of playing in Australia against Australians," Styris said in a Hurricanes statement.
The Kiwi joins Englishman Owais Shah as an international signing for the Hurricanes, who made the semi-finals of the inaugural BBL last season.
