KEY POINTS:
Teenager seam bowler Tim Southee has been added to the New Zealand squad for the third cricket test against England.
His callup today came within hours of New Zealand losing the second test in Wellington by 126 runs.
Southee, 19, made his Twenty20 international debut against the tourists last month before spearheading the New Zealand attack at the under-19 World Cup in Malaysia.
His inclusion in an enlarged squad of 14 comes as Kyle Mills complained of soreness behind his left knee.
The Auckland medium-fast bowler's fitness will be assessed today, but New Zealand team management was quick to stress the problem was unrelated to an injury which sidelined Mills for a lengthy period last year.
Management said Southee would be considered for selection in the third test, starting in Napier on Saturday, even if Mills were declared fit.
New Zealand squad: Matthew Bell, Grant Elliot, Stephen Fleming, Mark Gillespie, Jamie How, Chris Martin, Brendon McCullum, Kyle Mills, Jacob Oram, Jeetan Patel, Mathew Sinclair, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Daniel Vettori.
