The Plunket Shield cricket match between Otago and Central Districts has been abandoned on the fourth and final day after heavy overnight rain made field conditions unplayable.
Central Districts took first innings points after scoring 222 for nine in reply to Otago's 147.
Otago were set to resume their second innings at 113 for three this morning before the game was abandoned after umpires Ewan Watkin and Gary Baxter decided the University Oval ground was unfit for play.
Meanwhile Canterbury have beaten Wellington by 76 runs on the fourth and final day of their match at Rangiora.
Chasing 255 to win, Wellington, who were 105 for none overnight collapsed to be all out for 178 today.
Teenager Matt Henry, 19, shone with the ball taking five for 23 off just nine in his first class debut for Canterbury.
