Australia squared the four-match women's one-day cricket series against New Zealand by overcoming a mid-innings collapse to win game two of the Rose Bowl by four wickets in Sydney yesterday.
Set 289 for victory, the Southern Stars got home with 20 balls to spare.
Australia appeared to be cruising thanks to an opening stand of 131 in 18.2 overs between Meg Lanning (72 off 53 balls) and Rachael Haynes (70 off 75).
They were still well placed at 169-1 in the 25th over, but lost 30-4 to subside to 199-5 in the 31st.
White Ferns spinner Morna Nielsen (3-36 off 10 overs) cranked up the pressure on Australia with some tidy and penetrative bowling. Sarah Coyte (51 not out off 54) and captain Jodie Fields (31 off 46) re-energised the run chase with a sixth-wicket stand of 60.
