The West Indies have beaten New Zealand by 23 runs in the opening game of the women's cricket T20 tri-series in Barbados today.
The West Indies made 104 for six, of which Deandra Dottin hit 52, including two sixes, before they bowled out the White Ferns for just 81.
Dottin came in at 18 for three before dominating the New Zealand bowling. Nicola Browne and Sian Ruck took two wickets apiece for New Zealand.
In the New Zealand innings, Anisa Mohammad took fine figures of five for 19. Amy Satterthwaite with 31, and Rachel Priest, who made 22, shared a 40-run stand for the fifth wicket off just five overs which revived the New Zealand innings which had been sagging at 31 for four.
New Zealand play England next in Barbados on Thursday.
