New Zealand's under-19 cricketers have the chance to go one step further than their senior compatriots today.
They face India in the second semifinal of their World Cup in Townsville, the winner to face Australia in the final on Sunday.
New Zealand have made the semifinals of the senior World Cup five times in 10 attempts, but have yet to contest a final.
Having beaten the West Indies by three wickets in their quarter-final - taking 18 off the final over, and four off the last ball of the match by Auckland allrounder Ish Sodhi - New Zealand will go in buoyed by a jolt of self-belief.
"India is a strong side and it will be a tough match, but at the same time we feel confident that if we play to our potential we can beat them," New Zealand captain Will Young said.
