Applications have closed for the job of national selection manager within New Zealand Cricket.
Former test batsman, coach and selector Mark Greatbatch is occupying the newly created position in an acting capacity. The successful applicant is expected to be confirmed within the next three weeks.
The key part of the job is working alongside national coach John Wright in selecting the New Zealand team, and liaising with provincial coaches, but also overseeing selections at both age group level and the national women's team.
The New Zealand team to tour Zimbabwe in October-November is expected to be named at the start of October. Three weeks of training camps at Lincoln have been pencilled in from September 18.
The tour is expected to consist of two T20s in Harare from October 15, three ODIs and a two-day warmup game preceding a single test in Bulawayo, starting on November 1.
