Black Caps bowler Mitchell McClenaghan had a strong outing for his Indian Premier League side the Mumbai Indians overnight but it wasn't enough to earn a win over the Delhi Daredevils.
McClenaghan dismissed Delhi opener Mayank Agarwal with the third ball of the match before Shreyas Iyer (83) and JP Duminy (78) put on 154 for the second wicket.
McClenaghan picked up a second wicket when he dismissed Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews for 17 tp finish with 2-38 from four overs as the Daredevils reached 190 for four.
Mumbai never really got their chase going with all of the top six making starts but all failing to set up an match-winning innings.
Batting nine McClenaghan fell for a first ball duck to South African spinner Imran Tahir as Mumbai fell 37 runs short of victory.
