Former Black Caps batsman Jesse Ryder will leave behind Wellington and turn out for Otago in the upcoming domestic cricket season.
Ryder, who was critically injured in an incident at a Christchurch bar in March, has been with the Firebirds since 2004.
He'll join Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum at the southern side.
