KEY POINTS:
Australia's Mike Hussey says it is important his team keep their emotions under control in today's potentially explosive opening finals match against India in Sydney.
The ill feeling between the two sides has regularly come to the surface this summer and the war of words between Matthew Hayden and Harbhajan Singh this week has only added to the tension before the day-nighter.
"I think it is important that we don't let all of the distractions play any part in our mind, if we play on emotion sometimes those distractions can have a detrimental effect on your performance," Hussey said.
"So it is important that we just concentrate on our plans, our goals and execute our skills as well as possible.
"If we do that, if we can take the emotion out of it, I think we can play our best cricket and it would be great to go 1-0 up in the series."
The prolific left-handed batsman said the home side were not too concerned about Friday night's narrow loss to Sri Lanka in Melbourne and were raring to go against the Indians.
* South Africa skipper Graeme Smith and Neil McKenzie set a world record for the opening wicket partnership on the second morning of the second cricket test against Bangladesh yesterday.
Smith was on 231 and McKenzie on 170 when they surpassed the record of 413 for the opening wicket set by Indian pairing Vinoo Mankad and Pankaj Roy against New Zealand in 1956.
Their partnership ended shortly after on 415 when Smith was bowled by Abdur Razzak for 232.
