In a stunning finale, the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots got up to beat the Jamaica Tallawahs to move one win away from the Caribbean Premier League final.
In a game loaded with New Zealand presence, they needed 15 to win off the final over but allrounder Rovman Powell completely lost the plot, being pinged with four wides and when Australian allrounder Ben Cutting swung the penultimate ball into the crowd for six they had pulled off a highly improbable win by two wickets, finishing on 193 for eight.
The outcome was a blow for New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Glenn Phillips, one of five New Zealanders in the game.
Phillips's thunderous 103 had helped the Tallawahs to 191 for five. It took just 63 balls and included six sixes and nine fours. It was his second T20 century, after a rollicking 116 not out off 57 balls against Central Districts at Eden Park in January last year.
The hero for the Patriots turned out to be Northern Districts allrounder and man of the match Anton Devcich, who pulled his side up to a challenging position with 50 off 23 balls.
