Cricket: Former Black Cap heading home

Former Wellington and Black Cap strike bowler Ian O'Brien is heading back to New Zealand.

O'Brien's battling injury and for England Cricket Board approval to play for Middlesex as a local rather than overseas player.

So during the UK winter he's planning a stint here and is keen to play to re-ignite his career.

O'Brien says he's been keeping in touch with Wellington coach Anthony Stuart but would be happy just to play some club cricket.

His plans include more than just leather and willow.

O'Brien says he has to clean out his parents garage and will be going to the Bon Jovi concert.

O'Brien has a couple of lawyers working for him as he tries to establish himself as a local player under English County laws.
