Former Australian test cricket fast bowler Max Walker has reportedly died, aged 68.
Walker, who played 34 tests for Australia, took 138 wickets at an average of 27.47 between 1972 and 1977.
It was confirmed today that Walker died overnight after a two-year battle with cancer.
Walker became affectionately known as "Tangles" during his career for his unorthodox run-up.
He was just as popular with fans off the field as a sports commentator on Channel 9's Wide World of Sports as he was during his celebrated career.
He was named a Member of the Order of Australia in 2011 for his services to cricket as a player and commentator, but had battled prostate cancer post- retirement.
