Cricket: Corey Anderson bowls shocking final over as Bangalore lose in IPL

Corey Anderson had a night to forget in the IPL as his Royal Challengers Bangalore fell to a five-wicket defeat against the Chennai Super Kings.

Bangalore set a strong total of 205/8 from their 20 overs, thanks in large part to South African duo AB de Villiers (68) and Quinton de Kock (53).

Chennai then got off to slow start, getting reduced to 74/4 before Indian pair MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu steadied the ship.

The Super Kings were left needing 16 from the final over, with Anderson entrusted with the ball by captain Virat Kohli.

The first ball of the final over was edged for four by Dwayne Bravo, before smashing the second ball over cover for six.

A single from the next ball brought Dhoni on strike with five runs needed from three balls.

Dhoni proceeded to hammer the next ball into the stands for another huge six to claim victory for the Super Kings.

The Black Caps all rounder finished with bowling figures of 0-58 from 3.4 overs.
