Former New Zealand folk hero Lance Cairns is back in the game at national level, having been named today as one of two high performance talent scouts.
Cairns and former Auckland player and Central Districts coach Alan Hunt are the two scouts named today by New Zealand Cricket's general manager national selection Bruce Edgar.
"Lance has a strong background in selecting and coaching, while Alan is across the game currently and has a really good eye for talent," said Edgar, a former New Zealand team mate of Cairns'.
Hunt took CD to the Plunket Shield title last season. Cairns, a swing bowler and big-hitting lower order batsman, played a key part in New Zealand's successful team of the 1980s, and was a national selector in 2010-11.
Their role will revolve around identifying future international players.
