Former international Grant Bradburn will coach New Zealand A and the national under 19 teams this year.
Bradburn, 47, who has just ended five years as Northern Districts coach, is off to Australia for the forthcoming under 19 tri-series against their hosts and India and will oversee the A tour to India and Sri Lanka from late August.
"To be able to work with some of New Zealand's most elite and exciting players is a great opportunity," he said. "Both sides are hugely important to the sports development and I'm aware of the responsibility that comes with the role."
New Zealand Cricket director of cricket John Buchanan pronounced the organisation "thrilled" to have appointed 'someone of Grant's ability".
"Improving our depth at the top level is a focus for us and both the New Zealand A and under 19 sides play a big part in this."
