Northern Districts coach Grant Bradburn will take his time before deciding whether to apply for the vacant Black Caps role.
Bradburn has led the Knights to two four day and two one day titles in New Zealand domestic cricket since he took over in 2008.
Bradburn says he'll give itmore thought when the job description becomes known.
"I haven't had enough time to really consider the job fully and I'd definitely consider that one, if the job itself becomes clear and have a look at the way New Zealand Cricket have in mind to structure that role."
While it's always been a goal to coach the national side, Bradburn's taking a measured approach at this stage.
"There's a number of factors that I'd need to consider to decide whether the timing was right to put my hat in the ring but most certainly always been very keen, very passionate about coaching the country which would be a huge honour at some stage."
Bradburn expects New Zealand Cricket to fill the role reasonably soon, especially with the Twenty20 World Cup fast approaching.
