Test batsman Adam Voges has sent a major scare through cricketing circles after copping a sickening blow to the head.
Voges was struck in the back of the helmet while attempting to evade a Cam Stevenson bouncer shortly before lunch on day one of Western Australia's Sheffield Shield clash with Tasmania at the WACA Ground.
The 37-year-old immediately dropped to his hands and knees after copping the blow, with players rushing to his aid.
Voges, who was on 16 at the time, received some medical treatment on the pitch, before being helped off the ground by two trainers.
Although he didn't need to go to hospital, he has been ruled out of the rest of the match with concussion.
