Former New Zealand seamer Andre Adams has signed a three-month contract with Hampshire for the first part of the next England season.
Adams, who is coming to the end of an eight-season stint at Nottinghamshire, said he had a spare period next year, and wanted a new challenge to help his development into coaching.
"The intention was to finish my professional career here (at Nottinghamshire)...but the opportunity to work in a different club and environment is a massive part of my learning curve. I'll get to put things into play that I've learned here and at Auckland. It'll allow me to grow," Adams said.
The 39-year-old has taken 344 first-class wickets for Notts at 24.18 apiece, as part of a record of 683 wickets in 170 matches. He has potentially two games left with Notts.
Adams played one test, 42 ODIs and four T20 internationals for New Zealand. Giles White, Hampshire's director of cricket, said: "Andre has an excellent record and will add quality and experience to the bowling attack. We hope he has an impact both on and off the pitch during the first half of the 2015 season."
