Indian teams are expected to present the strongest early opposition for the New Zealand men's and women's table tennis teams after the Commonwealth Games pools were announced yesterday.
The New Zealand men, seeded sixth, are in section D of their tournament - along with fourth seeds India, Mauritius, Jamaica, Kenya and the Maldives.
The third-seeded New Zealand women are in section C against fifth seeds India, eighth seeds Wales and 10th seeds Northern Ireland.
"The women have a chance of getting a bronze and the men could be pretty close," New Zealand manager Ron Garrett said.
Singapore are the top-ranked women's team and England top the men's seeds.
