Ther was more success for New Zealand's top swimmers at the Commonwealth Games trials in Auckland today.
Moss Burmester, who has already qualified in the 100m butterfly, has topped the heats with a personal best of 1:57:63 - a full three seconds under the Melbourne mark.
Kelly Bentley's the fastest in the heats of the women's 200m breaststroke, as is Alison Fitch in the 200m freestyle.
The finals start at six o'clock tonight.
Four swimmers have booked spots in their second event at the Games. Nichola Chellingworth, Helen Norfolk, Liz Coster and Daniel Sharp had already set qualifying times earlier in the trials. Chellingworth says she is thrilled to have gone under the mark in both the 50m and 100m freestyle events.
Dean Kent has also qualified a men's 4 by 100m relay team with his time in the 100m breaststroke semifinals.
Disappointment for Corney Swanepoel, who has not qualified for Melbourne next year, missing out by one tenth of a second in the 50m butterfly final. He also dipped out by a fraction of a second in the 100m earlier in the trials.
