New Zealand swimmer Dean Kent has qualified third fastest for tonight's 400m medley final at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Kent was today comfortably among the top eight into the final, swimming four minutes 22.75 seconds for second in his heat to Thomas Haffield of Wales.
He will be the only New Zealander in finals action tonight, with seven of his teammates in semifinals.
