MELBOURNE - Swimmer Lauren Boyle had the honour of being the first New Zealander into a Commonwealth Games final when she qualified in the 200m freestyle this morning.
Boyle swam a personal best two minutes 1.01 seconds to nail down eighth fastest time, and snare the final qualifying spot in tonight's final at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic centre.
Alison Fitch and Melissa Ingram failed to qualify.
