New Zealand squash players Shelley Kitchen and Tamsyn Leevey will have to upset higher-ranked opponents to set up a singles quarter-final meeting at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne next week.
The pair, a gold medal chance in the doubles competition after winning the world title in January, are New Zealand's only singles players but found themselves in the same half of the women's draw released yesterday.
Kitchen, seeded ninth, is drawn to meet fifth seed Jenny Duncalf of England in the second round while Leevey, seeded 14th, should meet English fourth seed Vicky Botwright.
The winners of both matches will meet in the quarter-finals.
