New Zealander Shelley Kitchen bowed out in the opening round of the Kuala Lumpur Squash Open last night, but not without a fight against world No 1 Nicol David.
Kitchen took a game off the Malaysian before going down 9-6 9-5 4-9 9-4 in 39 minutes.
She will return home to play next week's Remuera Open in Auckland before assembling with her New Zealand teammates to finalise preparations for next month's Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
