India won their eighth gold medal in the shooting when Jaspal Rana and Mahaveer Singh headed the men's 25m centre fire pistol competition at the National Shooting Centre in Bisley.
The pair scored 1150 points. David Moore and Bruce Quick, of Australia, took silver with 1149 and Pakistan's Irshad Ali and Zahid Ali finished third with 1142, their first medal of the Games.
So far India have eight gold and two silver medals from the shooting competitions, and 11 gold in total.
In terms of gold medals, this is India's second-best performance in the 72-year history of the Games. Their best was 13 in Auckland in 1990.
