Security for the Commonwealth Games is in full swing, with competition venues locked down following security sweeps a week ahead of the opening ceremony.
"We are now moving into the full operational mode along with our partners in the military and in the security agencies," Victoria state police commissioner Christine Nixon said.
The Games run from March 15-26 and have attracted about 4500 athletes from 71 countries in 16 sports.
