Rising rugby prospect Etene Nanai-Seturo is set to get a second chance to make his mark at the Commonwealth Games.
The highly rated teenager was initially left out of the New Zealand Sevens squad, but he has received a late call-up to the Gold Coast after injuries hit the Kiwi team.
It's understood young playmaker Ngarohi McGarvey-Black has been forced to return to New Zealand after injuring himself during a recent warm-up match against Australia.
Nanai-Seturo was previously involved in a tug-of-war between New Zealand Rugby and the Warriors, with the Warriors receiving what is thought to be a six-figure compensation payment in exchange for Nanai-Seturo swapping codes.
He then impressed on the sevens circuit without doing enough to make the initial 12-man Games squad, but the unfortunately timed injury to McGarvey-Black has opened up the door for the 18-year-old.
