Netball: Travel trouble for Games sides

There's still one final hurdle to overcome for the netball competition to start on time at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi this afternoon.

Most of the technical issues that had threatened the competition have now been sorted, with the statistics, results and uniform problems resolved.

Samoa is due to face Australia in the opening match of the tournament from 5pm.

International technical director Lindy Murphy says it will only start if the officials can get to the stadium on time.

She says the bus drivers don't know where the hotel is and they are getting lost and turning up late.

It's a busy opening day for New Zealand athletes with our swimmers in the pool from just before 4pm.

Kiwis are in archery, badminton, bowls, gymnastics, hockey, squash, netball, table tennis, tennis and weightlifting.

The Silver Ferns face Papua New Guinea in their opening game this evening.
