New Zealand triathlete Kris Gemmell has had a boost to his Commonwealth Games preparations with victory in the Lanzarote International duathlon on the Canary Islands yesterday.
He held off a challenge from Denmark's Rasmus Henning to win the 5km run, 20km bike, 2.5km run event over some testing terrain at the Club La Santa Resort.
Gemmell now returns home to complete his preparations for the Games triathlon in Melbourne on March 18.
