After 12 days of competition in which they collected 46 medals, the New Zealand Commonwealth Games team touch back down in Auckland tonight.
The team collected 15 gold, 16 silver and 15 bronze medals to end their campaign in fifth place on the medal table.
Some of the stars of the campaign included squash stalwart Joelle King, who won three medal and played on every day of the competition; boxer David Nyika who became the first Kiwi to win gold in two weight classes; the cycling team - who accounted for over 36 per cent of the medal count with their 17; and gold medal-winning weightlifter David Liti.
